Pricing Transparency
In accordance with provisions contained in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2009, Thayer County Health Services (TCHS) is pleased to provide you with a list of our standard charges in a machine-readable format. The purpose of providing this list of charges is to improve the transparency of prices among hospitals, health systems, and other healthcare providers to assist you in making an informed decision about where to seek medical care. Estimate
The pricing information provided on this website is the actual standard charges but what you will be charged for will be determined by the following:
- Your unique medical condition and needs as determined by your provider;
- The length of time spent in surgery or recovery, if applicable;
- The number of days spent in the hospital, if applicable;
- Specific equipment, medications, or supplies ordered by your provider;
- Additional tests required by your provider; and/or
- Any unusual special care or unexpected condition or complications.

Insurance
Your out-of-pocket expense will depend on your individual insurance coverage, such as contractual discounts, deductibles, co-insurance, co-pays, and out-of-pocket maximums. To determine your estimated out-of-pocket expense, please contact your insurance company by calling the telephone number on the back of your insurance card.
Clinic/Hospital Charges Only
These charges reflect care provided in any one of our rural health clinics (RHCs) or care provided in the hospital as an emergency room patient, extended outpatient, inpatient, outpatient, or swing bed patient. Additional professional fees may be billed by an outside provider if you have received services performed by a specialist physician, or if you have received diagnostic testing that requires reading by a radiologist, pathologist, or cardiologist.
Other Considerations
While price is important in determining where you should seek medical care, we believe you should also consider the experience and expertise of the professionals providing the care, the quality of the care provided, and your perceptions regarding your satisfaction with the level of care provided in past encounters.
