Podiatry is offered through the Specialty Clinic at Thayer County Health Services by Dr. David Waters and Dr. Evan Lenertz. Podiatrists are healthcare professionals who have been trained to diagnose and treat abnormal conditions of the feet and lower limbs. They can also treat and alleviate day-to-day foot problems, including toenail problems, such as thickened toenails, fungal nail infections, or ingrown toenails. corns and calluses. Dr. Waters evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage adult and adolescent patients with disorders of the foot and/or ankle such as foot pain, ankle pain, foot and ankle injuries, foot and ankle fractures, heel pain, plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, Achilles tendinitis, Achilles ruptures, flat foot, foot and ankle arthritis, ankle replacement surgery, foot and ankle surgery, orthotics, shoe inserts, ingrown toenails, bunions, hammertoe, and diabetic foot care.
Dr. Waters & Dr. Lenertz perform surgeries on-site at TCHS and their surgical services include administration of local anesthesia, regional or nerve block, amputation of the digit, arthrocentesis, arthrodesis digital, arthroplasty of the digit, debridement of abscess or ulceration, electrosurgical destruction of skin lesions, excision of benign nerve tumor, excision of skin lesions and tumors, excision of soft tissue lesions and tumors, hallux valgus and hallux varus repair, hardware removal, implantation of silicone joint implants, incision and drainage of abscess or hematoma, removal of foreign body, surgical repair of lacerations, tendon transfer, tendon lengthening, and treating cases of non-union, and much more!
